Services – when and where

Sunday mornings, 10.30am
at the Mead School

There will be two Family Services per month and Communion once a month. Special activities will be laid on for children during the services which are geared towards adults.

Church is for all ages and there will be a time after the services for everyone to meet for coffee and get to know each other. It is very much hoped that everyone will stay for this very important part of ‘being church’.

We warmly invite you to Paxcroft Mead’s Easter Day All Age Family Service at 10.30am at The Mead School with Catwalk theme! After the service: Refreshments with hot cross buns, an Easter egg hunt for the children and egg decorating.

The Marriage Course

Kingfisher Church regularly runs marriage courses for any couple who aspire to having a strong, loving and lifelong relationship and are committed to investing some time together to achieve this.

The aim of the course is to make even the strongest and happiest marriage better.

Our next planned course starts in January 2012 and consists of seven sessions over approximately 7 weeks.

It takes place in a local home where you will be served with a meal and then over coffee listen to practical talks that are informative and fun,( played on DVD);
Time is then spent with your partner exploring together some key areas that are important in any marriage.

There is never any group work and you will never be asked to share anything about your relationship with anyone other than your partner.

For more information about the course or to book please contact Alison or Mark Bennett using the 'Contact us' link.

Mid-Week Groups

These are friendship groups which are termed ‘Cells’.

The meetings are held in someone’s home on the Mead and usually last about an hour and a half; some are during the day time and others, in the evening (currently Thursdays). Cell is about seeking to encourage one another to grow in their Christian lives. The basic structure of a Cell meeting consists of a ‘Welcome’ or ‘Icebreaker’, some worship followed by a discussion, usually with reference to the Sunday Sermon and ending with an aspect of how to reach out to family, friends, neighbours and contacts to bring them to the Lord.

It is hoped that everyone in the church will join a cell group as it is the main way that the leaders can carry out their pastoral care of everyone. It is a really good way of supporting one another and forming close relationships.

If you would like to know more or would like to attend a Midweek Meeting, please contact Alison or Mark Bennett using the 'Contact us' link.

Parent & Toddler Group

Any parents or carers with babies and young children are welcome to meet with others at St Thomas’ Church Hall on either a Monday morning from 10.00am till 12.00 noon or at the Monday afternoon session from 1.00pm till 3.00pm during term time.

What they do

They aim to provide a safe, happy atmosphere with a variety of toys and activities where adults and children can play and meet each other and the helpers for mutual support and company. There is always a craft activity, a singing session and a drinks time. The committee and helpers are all members of St Thomas' and aim to reach out to the community. Twice a term they hold an informal Toddler service to which everyone is invited.

Part of a Community

Kingfisher Church look forward to supporting the Mead School’s events and working together as partners.

Many members of the core team are parents of children at the School and are naturally involved with their activities. There will be special services held throughout the year such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas which it is hoped will strengthen the links between Church and School, draw people together and impose a positive impact on the community. It goes without saying that members of the church will be involved in regular prayer for the school – for the staff, pupils and their families.

Prayer Support

One of the cornerstones of our ministry at Kingfisher Church is Prayer. We know that if we ask anything according to God’s will, He hears us. We want to put our faith into action by extending our prayer life to the community and so we would like to invite anyone who has a need, to feel free to share that need (anonymously if you like) with our prayer support team.

You or someone dear to you may be experiencing relationship difficulties, or maybe an illness or trying to deal with grief; maybe you are facing career decisions or unemployment. We are confident that with prayer, healing will begin to take place, we know that prayer really can make a difference. If you feel you have a need for prayer and would like prayer support, please contact Alison or Mark using the link.
