About us
We are a Christian church based at The Mead Community Primary School, Hilperton, providing a worshipping community for Paxcroft Mead, Castle Mead and the developing area on the east side of Trowbridge.
We believe we are called to serve God and show His love in our local area. Everyone in our church from the youngest to the oldest person has an important role to play in Kingfisher church and we enjoy being an all-age congregation. Our desire is to be a source of God’s friendship, hope and healing to those around us which means welcoming and accepting everyone, and sharing God’s unconditional love whatever circumstances we find ourselves in.
We are an Anglican congregation in the Salisbury diocese, overseen by Rev Allan Coutts, who is vicar of our parent church, St Thomas’ Trowbridge. Many of the original congregation were part of St Thomas’ Church and responded to God’s call to ‘plant’ a church on the Paxcroft Mead estate: we have met regularly here since Easter 2009. However the current church is made up of people from a diverse range of church experiences and backgrounds, spanning a wide age range from young children through to people in retirement.
We have an informal worship style which is ‘family friendly’. Most weeks we have structured activities for the children and teens for part of our service time; in the other weeks we have services aimed to engage the whole age range. We love to welcome newcomers, whether just for one Sunday or for longer, aiming to make sure everyone feels loved and supported, whether they’re happy or finding life tough
